JOB SUMMARY

The Engineer is responsible for day to day maintenance of the property in accordance with standards, policies and procedures. The Engineer performs specific repairs on carpentry, cleaning, electrical, HVAC, kitchen equipment, masonry, painting, plumbing and other general and preventive maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prioritizes and completes maintenance service requests.
• Completes related paper work in an accurate and timely manner, utilizing computer software and general office procedures to track the status.
• Performs specific carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, equipment repair and other general maintenance in accordance with standards and city, state and federal building codes when applicable.
• May repair, replace or maintain various property emergency and security systems.
• May inspect vendor/contractor work performed to ensure quality, completeness and compliance with standards.
• Purchases supplies as necessary
• Assist the Chief Engineer to inspect the facility and property including all roofs, stucco, drywall, masonry, asphalt, structural, and recreational areas, identifying all areas in need of immediate or future repairs and maintenance.
• Conducts informal property inspection of all common areas of the property and informs the Chief Engineer of all extraordinary items to discuss scheduling of any required work.
• Proactively learn new technologies, methods and materials for lowering operating costs.
• Provides and maintains tools and equipment customarily used in the industry and building trades.
• Works with the Chief Engineer to attend safety meetings and implement the OSHA policies that apply the company.
• Supports team building with positive and open communication.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 2 years commercial maintenance experience performing maintenance related job duties
• Ability to perform advanced level maintenance related tasks including automotive, carpentry, electrical, emergency/security systems, HVAC, kitchen equipment and plumbing
• Ability to continually lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50lb and occasionally up to 75lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch and use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, stack and retrieve items
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions, numerical information, policies/procedures
• Ability to provide exceptional guest services
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must maintain complete understanding of operations and principles
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; maintenance trade relative seminars, schools and courses helpful
