JOB SUMMARY

The Housestaff are responsible for assisting the Guest Room attendants and completing housekeeping duties as assigned.

All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness and integrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote positive guest relations by being honest, helpful and courteous
• Strip the hotel guest room beds
• Remove trash from rooms, hallways and cooridors
• Stock Guest Room Attendant carts
• Refresh pool area by checking bathrooms, emptying garbage, collecting dirty towels for laundry, straightening the furniture, mopping excess water around pool, wiping down fitness equipment, restocking towels and completing other housekeeping duties as assigned 
• Assist the laundry department with washing, drying, folding and delivering linen
• Assist with moving furniture as necessary for cleaning and resetting room
• Adhere to all safety rules and requirements and all policies and procedures
• Show willingness and effort to work as a team
• Ensure security of guest rooms along with a high level of confidentiality and privacy of guests
• Regularly provide information to Supervisor/Manager regarding guest reactions, comments, or problems that may arise and any hazards, damages, or appearance concerns throughout the hotel to ensure a quality and safe environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Prior laundry, housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
• Ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management and guests to ensure a positive experience
• Must pay attention to detail including cleanliness and safety
• Ability to communicate effectively and listen attentively
• Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
• Ability to lift/push/pull/handle a minimum of 25 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally up to 75 pounds
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, stand, walk and exert well-paced mobility during entire shift
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
